I have been building things on the web since I was a teenager, mostly
because it is fun. Games, tools, small experiments, the odd
over-engineered side project. The craft is the point — getting
the motion right, making something feel good to use. This is where I
keep the work I make for myself.
I optimise for the person who opens the file a year from now —
clear names, small functions, control flow with no surprises. The
clever one-liner rarely survives that test.
Process
Shipped in Small Steps
Changes go out behind flags, reviewed and easy to roll back. Ten
quiet deploys in a day beat one nervous release a month, and the
history stays readable.

Judged by How It Feels
Performance budgets, real-device checks, motion that holds the
frame rate. It is done when it loads fast, answers instantly, and
stays out of your way.

This is the personal portfolio of Manik Rana, a developer based in Dehradun, India. This page explains plainly what the site does, and doesn’t do, with your information.
What I collect
Very little. There are no accounts, sign-ups, analytics, advertising or tracking on this site, and it doesn’t set any cookies. The only personal information I receive is what you choose to send me by email.
The contact form
The message form on the Contact page is checked in your browser only. What you type into it isn’t sent to me or stored anywhere. To reach me, use the email or social links on that page.
Email
If you email me, I receive your email address and whatever you write, and I use it only to reply to you. I don’t add you to a mailing list or share it with anyone.
Storage in your browser
The intro animation stores one small flag in your browser’s session storage so it doesn’t replay on every page load. It is cleared when you close the tab. The experimental game at /game/g1/ saves its settings and progress in your browser’s local storage. Both stay on your device, and you can clear them from your browser settings at any time.
Third-party services
Vercel hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes technical request data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and keep the service secure. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
LottieFiles serves the intro animation from lottie.host the first time you open the site in a session, so that server receives an ordinary request from your browser.
Fonts, images and videos are served from this site itself, not from Google Fonts or another external provider.
Links to other sites
Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, Instagram, email and the live project sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.
The source code is public on GitHub. Being able to read it doesn’t grant a licence to reuse it. The open-source libraries and components it builds on (such as React, three.js, GSAP, OGL and several React Bits components) and its fonts stay under their own licences. Names and logos of tools and companies shown here belong to their owners.
Design credit
The design of this site is inspired by award-winning websites, the kind featured on Awwwards, and by examples I studied while building it. It is not entirely my own original idea.

The site and everything on it is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. I try to keep it accurate and working, but I can’t promise it will always be available, error-free or up to date.

I believe using different methods to create something new isn't a bad thing. What matters isn't how you did it or what tools you used — it's that you finished it, and it works the way you wanted it to.
